Presentation Part 2

It was another round of presentation this week!
This time round the one we had first off,

Toy Story! It was really way back in childhood since the Toystory came out.
The animation was mad crazy good. Had Woody, who was jealous of Buzz Lightyears.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
I remember watching this first film for LOTR!
The others i guess i have skip it!
The first film which was The Fellowship of the Ring was nice!
Personally i felt it was new. Having Hobbits around is epic.
They were much smaller and shorter in size compare to a average human.
Scale doubles and building sets in different sizes help in the shooting to create the illusion.
A CGI animation system was also use for battle scenes! They let many individuals to act differently from each other!

Titanic and KingKong was two other film that i have watched before and was presented too!

Presentation Part 1

Today half of the class are giving presentation on the movie they choose.
What left me deep impression was Sin City and Matrix.
Say the truth, i did not even watch Matrix before.
After watching them presented, I would really go down the library and check out those movie!

For Sin City, the color contrast and the backdrop they use was very unique. The impact that left the audience and how they use colors to portray the live and dead.

For Matrix it was the bullet time of course. My classmate talk about how they go about shooting it and amount of rotoscoping needed.

I presented the Fifth element!
It was a nice movie, that have actions and romance and effects.
Futuristic new york city was the main attraction!

Terminator 2

This is a really nice movie to start off with.
The effects were really cool, including the metal liquid effect.
All the effects in the movie really spice up the movie alot alot alot!
There were lots of gun shots and bombs.

The most gross part was the part where they rip the skin of the skull and wanted to extract the computer chip out of the terminator. It was simply real and gross to me.

The metal man. LOL.

Models

Models are very useful! It can be made and after that capture on a camera. This can make impractical and non-existing environment or objects come to 'live'! You could build miniatures instead of building the actual size of the object/environment, which can lower the budget and cut cost for the whole production.
Bringing in CG models, it can never been easier! With software like Maya, we could create simple models within minutes!!

This are some of the 3Dmodels that i have done!

We had watch Star Wars in class.
Deep impression since i didn't watch any of Star Wars before!
Actually the floating vehicle that they drive really caught me by surprise!
The small old creature Yoda was CG at some point of time when there was a battle scene.

Cheers.

PIXAR!

HAD A TRIP TO THE SCIENCE CENTRE!!!!

I already can't remember when is the last time i went to the Science Centre, is it like 5years ago? There were lots of students hanging around there and makes it quite crowded, but not the Pixar exhibition! We went in the PIXAR EXHIBITION and was like teleported to another world. Lots of painting and models were laid out. Explanations and drawings.

THERE WAS A 3D MODEL ZOETROPE!!!!!
It was really very fantastic and unbelievable when you really see it!

Some of the models were like this :)
The models from the bugs life really attract me!
Especially the grasshopper and stick insect!

There were smaller rooms with seats and were showing short clips of the production!

Watched ToyStory2 3D after covering the exhibition.

I watch ToyStory2 for 4times already? But it was not bored at all to watch it over again!! The cute characters and nice story plot. The scenes that i cannot forget is the Jessie part when she talk about her past with her ex-owner. It was so emotional.

The scene of the elevator part was hilarious and the climax too!
